Description

The Medical Records Coder I HTPN codes and abstracts ancillary encounters into the coding and abstracting system. Codes and enters diagnostic and procedure codes into the billing system on services accounts as appropriate. Utilizes International Classification of Disease (ICD-10-CM) and Physicians Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding systems and other coding references to ensure accurate coding.



The Medical Records Coder I HTPN abstracts required data into the coding and abstracting system, analyzes and interprets medical records to ascertain complete and accurate information for coding, determines principle diagnosis(es) and procedure(s) utilizing updated Medicare coding guidelines and other references and analyzes and interprets medical records to ascertain complete and accurate information for coding.



The ideal Medical Records Coder I HTPN candidate is someone with effective communication skills who is organized, flexible and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
